Reactive Flows
Purpose and focus of SIG
A considerable number of research topics related to combustion and reactive flows are under the scope of the SIG28.
- Numerical modeling of combustion processes (DNS, LES, RANS)
- Experimental diagnostic techniques, sprays and multiphase flows
- Combustion instabilities and control, including acoustic instabilities
- Turbulent mixing, turbulence-chemistry interaction
- Reduction of complex reaction mechanisms using advanced techniques
- Particulates and high temperature materials processing
One of the aims of the SIG is to stimulate collaboration between experimental, theoretical and numerical approaches of the problem. Another goal is to bring together researchers specialised in turbulence and those involved in combustion.
