"Environmental and Aerosol Transmission of COVID-19"

Online Meeting

26th - 28th April 2021, 11:00 - 15:00 UK Time

Building on the work begun by the Royal Society’s Rapid Assistance in Modelling the Pandemic (RAMP) initiative, this three-day science meeting on the Environmental and Aerosol Transmission of COVID-19 will review existing work and identify where further research is most urgently needed. With the reduction of lockdown restrictions over the next few months, insights into areas such as the role of ventilation and the impact of people moving around within buildings are particularly timely.

The meeting will include a standalone public-facing component providing an accessible overview of the latest science, alongside scientific talks and discussion sessions targeting active researchers.

The aims of the meeting are to:

  1. Bring together a wide range of participants to maximise the engagement from different communities.
  2. Better inform the public on the science underlying viral transmission.
  3. Progress the most promising areas of research, and reach consensus on future research directions and research activity.

The workshop will be hosted virtually by the Newton Gateway to Mathematics, who are playing a key role in the RAMP Continuity Network (UKRI funded project), and we anticipate that the event will run from 11:00-15.00 each day.

Attendance at the event is free, please register via the Newton Gateway's website:https://gateway.newton.ac.uk/event/tgmw95.
