ERCOFTAC participated in "UK AI for Turbulence Workshop" - advancing collaboration between research and industry.

Our Chair, David Standingford, represented ERCOFTAC at the "UK AI for Turbulence Workshop" held at the Knowledge Centre, British Library, London, on 26th to 27th January 2026. The event was expertly organised by the UK Turbulence Network and brought together leading voices from academia and industry to discuss the future of artificial intelligence in the field of turbulence.

David Standingford contributed to the session on “AI & Turbulence in Industry”, which was chaired by Luca Magri of Imperial College London. The panel featured distinguished participants, including Neil Ashton (NVIDIA), Ryan Tunstall (Rolls-Royce), Małgorzata J. Zimoń (IBM), and Osama Ahmed (Imperial College London & Qronon). Together, they explored the challenges and opportunities of applying AI in industrial turbulence modelling, highlighting the crucial role of collaboration in bridging the gap between cutting-edge research and practical applications.

ERCOFTAC extends thanks to the UK Turbulence Network for hosting this impactful event and remains committed to fostering partnerships that drive innovation and knowledge exchange across the sector.
