Chairman's Address June 2020

Dear Colleagues and Members,

We have been living in a world with social distancing and predominantly online meetings for a few months now. Recently, many countries started to allow for increased but careful social interactions. The ERCOFTAC community has been adjusting accordingly.

The ERCOFTAC committee meetings originally planned for the Spring Festival in Cambridge were online events. Other events were postponed, e.g. ETMM13 is now taking place in Rhodes in May 12-14, 2021 (see http://etmm.ercoftac.org/etmm13/ and below). For events planned for fall, we are now carefully optimistic. It looks like we may be holding the Autumn Festival with da Vinci competition as planned in Rome in October 8-9, 2020. Of course, together with the local organizers, we will keep on monitoring the situation and have contingency plans in place – just in case.

As announced in the last Quarterly, we are developing our digital muscles further. One case in point is the use of social media. ERCOFTAC is now a connection on LinkedIn (https://www.linkedin.com/company/ercoftac/). Looking forward to your interaction!
