6th International ERCOFTAC Symposium on Engineering Turbulence Modelling and Measurements (ETMM-6)

Sofitel Thalassa TIMI AMA Hotel, Sardinia, Italy 2005

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES:

Symposium is direct continuation of a series on the topic of Engineering, Turbulence, Modelling and Measurements (ETMM), now held for the first time under the aegis of ERCOFTAC. The first five Symposia were held successfully in Dubrovnik, Yugoslavia in 1990, Florence, Italy in 1993, Crete, Greece in 1996, Corsica, France in 1999, and Mallorca, Spain in 2002. The sixth Symposium will again provide an opportunity for engineers and scientist to present the state of the art, discuss new developments and exchange ideas in the areas of turbulent floe modelling and measurements. Invited lectures and contributed papers will be presented by researchers from around the world. The organising committee is composed of members of the ERCOFTAC Scientific Programme Committee and other leading international experts in various disciplines of turbulent flow research.

SYMPOSIUM PROGRAMME:

The conference programme is available on the home page: www.crs4.it/ETMM6.

90 contributed papers will be presented in the follow sessions:

  • Turbulence Modelling
  • Direct and Large-Eddy Simulations
  • Hybrid LES/RANS Simulations
  • Application of Turbulence Models
  • Experimental Techniques and Studies
  • Transition
    • Turbulence Control
    • Aerodynamic Flows
    • Aero-Acoustics
    • Turbomachinery Flows
    • Heat and Mass Transfer

Hardcover proceedings published by Elsevier will be available at the conference.

    REGISTRATION FEE:

    Pre-registration has ended on March 1, 2005.

    Symposium participants €490
    Accompanying persons €120
    (social programme and shuttle bus)

The fee includes the conference proceedings, refreshments, shuttle bus services and the social programme (welcome reception, Sardinian evening at a farm, conference banquet).

    SYMPOSIUM LOCATION:

The symposium venue will be the four star SOFITEL Thalassa TIMI AMA Hotel located on the coast at the south-eastern tip of the Mediterranean island of Sardinia, Italy. The Hotel is 2 km from the small town of Villasimius and special request, the conference secretariat will look for more economical hotels in the vicinity. A shuttle bus service from Cagliari Airport to the Hotel and back will be arranged for the main travel days. The weather in Sardinia towards the end of May is usually warm and sunny.
